About Port Petit
Opened by French chef and restaurateur, Gerard Deymier, in 1988, Port Petit is a charming and welcoming seaside restaurant with beautiful views over the quaint port of Cala d’Or. Mediterranean inspired cuisine that uses only the highest quality ingredients—and many locally sourced, there are also subtle influences from other cultures such as Asian, South American, and Middle Eastern.
Nuanced and layered, like the best of French gastronomy which Deymier grew up with, Port Petit serves lunch and dinner and can be reserved for special events and parties. Port Petit is nearly a landmark institution in Mallorca after so many years on the island. King Juan Carlos dined here in 2003, as have other noteworthy celebrities and politicians, who know it is a must stop while visiting the island. Always attentive and diligent, the supporting team of Rosa, Wendy, Paco and Florencio will turn a pleasant evening into an unforgettable experience.
Deymier recently passed his chef’s hat to Jerome Lorieux, who now serves as head chef of Port Petit, along with his team and pastry chef, Théo Joannon. Frenchman, Lorieux, worked as a chef for over 9 years with experience cooking in Australia and Russia as well as other European countries. All three chefs bring new visions and ideas, while maintaining the style and heritage established by Deymier 20 years ago.
In 2017, Port Petit was given a Trip Advisor award for excellence, and noted as one of the 10 best seaside restaurants to celebrate an event by the guide, 10Restaurants, and over the years numerous European Food Guides have regularly recommended the restaurant. Fresh fish dishes such as lobster salted with lime butter, seafood risotto, butterflied shrimp, are local favourites and Port Petit is one of the few Mallorcan restaurants to master the French classic, steak tartar.
