Posada Terra Santa is a beautiful hidden gem in Palma’s Old Town that was formally the curial seat of the Barony of Bunyoli, built in 1576. During refurbishment many of the building’s original features were uncovered, carefully restored, and are now the cornerstones of the elegant décor of the hotel.
Hotel location
In the up-and-coming barrio of Sa Gerreria in Palma, Posada Terra Santa straddles two of the narrow streets full of old Mallorcan houses and mansions. The typically-Spanish Plaza Mayor, the building that was once the home of Gaudi’s apprentice, and the imposing town hall in Plaza Cort are all walking distance from the hotel and the major sights can be found just a few steps further.

Relax & enjoy
The ambient lighting, neutral, warm colours and ambient music instantly create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere upon walking through the main doors into the reception. It is worth noting that you can also access the hotel through the restaurant although you would be missing the impressive entrance and historic façade that provided the inspiration for the stag theme that continues through into the design of the hotel.
The old grain store of the building has been converted into a small spa which offers beauty treatments and an intimate space to relax and unwind with a small heated pool and a sauna and the rooftop is a sanctuary within the city with ample space to sunbathe, a phone connected downstairs to reception through which you can order your cocktails, and a small plunge pool.
Sleep
Sleeping here feels like staying in somebody else’s home, albeit a luxurious and immaculately decorated one. There are 26 rooms in 5 different styles including one that provides guests with a private terrace complete with Jacuzzi. The beds are large with crisp, white bedding and the furniture is tasteful, practical and warm.
Eat & drink
The culinary offering of this hotel comes in the form of its in-house restaurant, La Despensa del Barón which serves flavourful Mediterranean cuisine with Asian and Arabic influences. Follow dinner with drink in the colonial-style Salón Inglés which is sophisticated and stylish and doubles up as the hotels’ meeting space for conferences and business events.
Breakfast is served in the main lounge of the restaurant, just off of the reception area, and consists of a buffet laden with Mallorcan charcuterie boards, cheeses and fresh pastries as well as a selection of eggs cooked to order.
