The Trofeo Princesa Sofía Iberostar is part of the Eurosaf Champions Sailing Cup, the Olympic Classes European Sailing Circuit and is one of the most highly regarded regattas in the world attracting a high level of participation.
The regatta has made waves in the right direction by becoming the first sailing event that has applied the gender equality conditions that have been implemented by the International Olympic Committee and the first example of this will be with mixed teams in the two-person 470 class for the 50th edition year.
Ferran Muniesa, the event General Manager said “It is an honour and pride for the Sofía Iberostar to be pioneers once again thanks to the close relationship with the classes and sailors which has resulted in the regatta being known as the ‘the sailors’ regatta”

Over one thousand sailors from 55 nations will meet in Mallorca for the first key test towards the Paris 2024 Olympics
