Since 2007, the town of Muro has been celebrating the pumpkin fruit at its annual pumpkin fair. The event while not particularly big has a lively atmosphere and is loved for its pumpkin competition where locals submit their home-grown pumpkins for judging. The pumpkins arrive in all shapes, sizes and colours, which children particularly enjoy watching. During the competition, the submissions are divided into native and non-native pumpkins where a speaker on stage then comments on weight and size.
Alongside the competition there are also plenty of food stalls, homemade cakes and craft tents. Take a walk through Muro’s little streets and you will find plenty of pumpkin-themed products on offer. Pumpkin beer is a particular favourite which can be found at restaurant Brut de Llubi. In front of the church there are stalls that sell pumpkin pastries such as cremadillos and ensaimadas.
On Saturday 9th of November in evening, the Correfoc will also be performing. Children at 7pm and adults at 7:30pm.
