About Quinta Esencia
Quinta Esencia is the main restaurant of the Playa Santa Ponsa Boutique Hotel, a contemporary, full-service hotel located just steps from the large, white sand beach of Santa Ponsa along the southwest coast.
Quinta Esencia features fresh, Mediterranean food with some contemporary re-interpretations of traditional dishes such as lamb and pork, using only natural and fresh products, many of which are grown locally on the island.
With a focus on farm-to-table cooking, and modern interpretations on classic Mediterranean dishes, the menu at Quinta Esencia includes such specialities as roasted lamb with fresh vegetables, wild sea bass with celery puree, creamy avocado salad, and monkfish and shrimp suquet spiced with shaved almonds and parsley.
Desserts are handmade in the kitchen and include such favourites as crème brûlée, chocolate textured cake, and fresh fruit salad. The same innovative thinking applies to their cocktail menu as well; a dry martini, the classic Mai Tai, or a refreshing Black Pirate are just some of their specialities.
A restaurant with a view
A special feature of Quinta Esencia is the long, open-plan kitchen where diners can watch the chefs prepare their meal from their table or at the expansive bar that directly overlooks the kitchen.
The open, light-filled dining area blends a beachy vibe with some subtle, industrial design touches seen in the lighting and ceiling decor. The white walls, brown, soft leather seating, colourful tiling with contemporary art on the walls creates an inviting and relaxed atmosphere.
Attached the restaurant is the terrace and bar El Cubanito, where you can sip freshly made cocktails or a Mallorcan wine and enjoy the views.
