One of the most emblematic estates of Mallorca has been reopened to the public, more than a decade after it was acquired. In 2001, the German designer Jil Sander had been about to buy and restore Raixa, near Bunyola, but the Consell de Mallorca and the Ministry for the Environment stepped in and bought the historical estate for 8,4 million euros, with a cultural heritage centre planned.
The controversial project has now been completed at a cost of several more million euros, with the house and impressive garden – one of the most important on the island – now open to visitors.
Open to visitors on Tuesday and Thursday from 10h to 14h.
