Located in a distinctive old Mallorcan house on the seafront in Puerto de Sóller, Randemar has been a landmark here for over two decades, a recent renovation resulted in a smart new image.
Trendy young owners Toni Oliver and Cristina Egurrola have given the entire place – which includes several interior rooms and terraces – a swish modern makover. Its chic style and lovely sea views (particularly when the sun sets) make it a fashionable place to have lunch or dinner, or enjoy drinks and tapas in the RDM chill-out lounge. Toni and Cristina have created a restaurant of cool contemporary dining rooms and lovely terraces, where clients can disconnect from their hectic routine and find a sense of peace that invites relaxation. “We want our clients to leave with a sense that they have been at home, even if they were thousands of miles away,” say Toni and Cristina.
Chef Aleix Viada’s Mediterranean and seasonal cuisine includes homemade pastas, rice dishes, pizzas from their wood-fired oven, local fresh fish, braised meats, and homemade desserts. Vegetarians will find a good choice of dishes here. To start, there are salads and ethnic-inspired staples such as patatas bravas with chipotle dip. A Greek salad with watermelon, feta and mint was refreshing to clean the palate. Organic slow cooked lamb with pear chutney and potatoes, and Lubina with sweet potato puree were homestyle cooking at its most creative. There’s a well-chosen list of wines, including local and Spanish regional labels.
Randemar also has a room for parties, decorated in modern style with local art, and suitable for private events for up to 150 guests.
The stylish setting, beautiful sea views, relaxed music, chef Aleix Viada’s tasty seasonal Mediterranean cuisine, and good service, combine in this lovely place that has won so many hearts and created fond memories over more than two decades.
“I welcome you at my table, my story, my family, and my world,” says Toni. “Make yourself at home.”
