Restaurant owners Tomeu and Antonia describe La Mémé, in Palma de Mallorca, as offering a “trans-generational experience”: an expression of the evolution of cuisines, menus, service and ambience that have characterized the history of their grandmothers’ cooking. Their well-portioned dishes are based on fresh seasonal flavours, with traditional recipes given an interesting culinary touch.

The interior of this conveniently located restaurant on the Avenida Comte Sallent is super-stylish, making it a good find in this part of Palma de Mallorca. Public car parking is very close by, and La Mémé is a short walk only from the city’s railway and bus station, for those who want to enhance lunch or dinner with their great-value drinks package: a glass each of cava, white, red, and dessert wine. They also offer a fairly priced list of Spanish and Mallorcan wines.
Service is notably professional and the smartly uniformed waiters are well briefed about the dishes on offer from chef Enrique Zuñiga‘s kitchen. Menus offered at La Mémé
La Mémé offers à la carte, menú del día, and two tasting menus, comprising dishes made from seasonal dishes. Because the menu changes to accommodate the fresh products available, these are examples of the cuisine offered:
- Goat’s cheese salad with mango and papaya chutney
- Parpadelle with prawns and scallops
- Magret of duck with figs in orange and grape sauce
- Fillet of John Dory roasted with spinach and pine nuts
Menú del día comprises starter, main course, dessert and a drink, including bread, alioli, olives.
Two tasting menus are offered and are always available – except Friday and Saturday evenings – for a minimum of two people. Both include one aperitif, two half-starters, two half-main courses, dessert tasting, and water.
