Taking its name from the Latin word for olive oil, Oleum is the main restaurant in the 5-star Gran Hotel Son Net, which occupies a stunning hilltop location between the Serra de Tramuntana mountains and the charming village of Puigpunyent.
It’s a fitting name: an original 17th-century olive press is incorporated into the décor, which features attractive Mallorcan stone walls, richly coloured fabrics and ‘cutlery as art’. Despite its large size, the restaurant feels intimate and romantic – particularly at night. In fine weather tables are set on the terrace, affording glorious views.
Chef Cristian Coll García and his team offer delicious and attractively presented Mediterranean cuisine with Mallorcan touches, using seasonal local produce. Choose from 4- or 7-course tasting menus or à la carte.
Mallorcan wines feature on the extensive list, which includes Son Net’s own wines (white, rosé, reds and cavas) produced from grapes grown on the estate. Son Net also offers its own-brand olive oil, made from the Arbequina variety. Pre- or post-meal drinks can be enjoyed in the chimney room (log fire in winter) or on the terrace in fine weather.
