About Il Tano
With two locations on the island, Il Tano is a must for Italian food lovers. Both the original restaurant in Santa Catalina and a newer one in Palma Nova, are casual and authentic, family friendly with a welcoming atmosphere that stays true to the Italian spirit, including the much loved red and white chequered tablecloths.
Il Tano can be ordered for takeout and delivery, in case you want to enjoy the food at home. The menu features homemade pizzas made in a large brick pizza oven, pastas, salads, antipasto, and desserts. As many can appreciate, pizza and wine are a great couple and Il Tano offers a comprehensive wine list that pairs well with their food, including a selection of Barolo, Brunello, Nero d’Avola and Ornellaia, to name a few.
The restaurants are open every day of the week for lunch and dinner, from 13h-15:30h and from 19:30h-midnight.
Authentic Italian Cooking
All of the ingredients at Il Tano, from the ham and sausages to the cheese and mozzarella, are sourced from Puglia, one of the most noteworthy locations in Southern Italy for traditional cooking and high-quality products. The pizza menu on its own is vast and enticing with over 30 options.
Founder and owner, Alessandro, makes certain that the menu features favourite flavours as well as surprising additions. Classic choices like Margherita and four quesos are complimented by speciality pizzas like the Preciosa, with Mozzarella, chicken, mushrooms, onions and black olives, or the Setas Trufa- a mix of mushrooms, truffle and parmesan, to name just a couple. There are many temptations in the pasta category as well. Oven baked lasagne and eggplant parmesan are a few of the warm and hearty options.
Good for Groups
If you are looking for a restaurant to hold a birthday party or enjoy a meal with a large group of friends, Il Tano is a great option as they offer a special menu for more than ten people with a variety of dishes from which to choose. The inviting restaurant will set the right mood.
