About Retro Way
Retro Way is a funky new café located on the outskirts of the Santanyí, within easy walking distance of the pretty town centre. Its vibe is distinctly hip and healthy, offering a ‘flexitarian’ approach to eating in a laid-back, friendly environment reflected in the shabby-chic, hipster vibe.
They offer an excellent choice of vegetarian and vegan dishes, but also with the option of meat or fish. Ingredients are always fresh, seasonal, local, and with no preservatives, additives or added sugar.
Healthy global cuisine
The chef at Retro Way, Pepe Costa Garcia, has created an impressive and colourful menu that spans flavours from around the world including the Mediterranean and from Mexico to Asia.
They offer a particularly extensive breakfast and brunch menu, with filling and healthy dishes that can be accompanied by a range of freshly squeezed juices (such as orange, lemon and carrot) or smoothies (banana, blueberry and almond). Gluten-free pancakes with fresh fruit, or chia bowl with red fruits and crunchy coconut, are just two tasty options with which to start the day. Their homemade granola is also considered one of the best on the island.
Their Poke bowl is a popular favourite – with raw salmon, avocado, beans, mango and rice is a super-healthy option for lunch or dinner (and perfect accompanied by a freshly mixed Bloody Mary). Another great combination is their red curry with prawns accompanied by their Real Cola – sugar-free, organic and fair trade.
Their philosophy is that you can eat anything if you know where it comes from, what’s in it, and how it is cooked. They believe in food re-education “without labels, dogmas or obsessions”, simply offering a choice of tasty, healthy, and ethically sourced cuisine.
But their main secret is home-cooked food with top quality ingredients – everything is made in-house and from locally sourced produce whenever possible.
