This 18th-century Mallorcan stately home has been transformed into an adults-only oasis of calm in the centre of Campos town. And it certainly earns every one of its five stars, with top-end facilities that include a deluxe spa, two outstanding restaurants, and staff who are the epitome of friendly professionalism. Swish, immaculately presented interiors combine with an impressive collection of artworks combines for a truly exceptional property.
The hotel is one of just a few that occupies the town of Campos, located in the rural plains of the island’s rustic southeast region. It is set on the main road that runs through the centre of this largely residential town, but one characterised by its pretty stone townhouses and peaceful, timeless atmosphere. It’s just a 15-minute drive inland from the scenic south coast, and half an hour from the capital Palma and its airport.
Relax & enjoy
A high-walled garden provides perfect seclusion to recline on one of the cushioned loungers the line the hotel’s swimming pool. The tranquil outside space is also filled with pretty, scented flora and manicured lawns, the total peace only interrupted by trickling water and occasional chirruping bird. The purpose-built deluxe spa also provides a heated indoor pool, filled with natural light and featuring bubble-massage aqua-beds. A sauna, hammam, and range of treatments complete the spa offering, plus there’s a small gym and yoga sessions can be arranged.
There are 16 spacious Junior Suites (superior, deluxe and premium) plus one stunning Presidential Duplex Suite. Interiors are a light and welcoming combination of oak herringbone floors, exposed sandstone walls, and chic contemporary furnishing. Large artworks add to the atmosphere of understated sophistication and most rooms overlook the peaceful garden.
Rooms include the luxuries you might expect from a five-star hotel, from broad comfy beds with pillow menus to quality bathrobes and Nespresso coffee machines. Bathrooms are finished in oxidised steel, and all come with walk-in rainfall showers, thick fluffy towels, and premium Chopard products. The Presidential Suite adds a private chef, fully-equipped kitchen and two private terraces.
Eat & drink
The hotel features not one but two top-level restaurants. The first is the acclaimed Tess de Mar, in which Chef Juan Ocampo fuses 100% Mallorcan products and cuisine with innovative and international flourishes. Saturday tapas made from market-fresh ingredients are a particular treat.
The second place to eat is Kairiku, an intimate dining space located in the old wine cellar, where guests share a single table and surrender themselves to a menu chosen by the chef. Chef Ryuichiro Katano orchestrates with expertise and creates a genuinely unforgettable experience.
