A charming 4-star rural hotel set in agricultural countryside not far from Manacor. The restored 17th-century hacienda – at the heart of the Sa Franquesa estate – is built from Mallorcan sandstone, which takes on a photogenic golden glow in the summer evening light.
There are 24 double rooms (standard, premium and deluxe) and two suites – each with a whirlpool bath and its own terrace, where you can admire the views from sunbeds or terrace chairs.
Although the setting and exterior are traditionally rustic, the interior is contemporary, and the bedrooms are blessed with plenty of natural daylight, and a cool light colour scheme. The elegant modern restaurant serves Mallorcan/Mediterranean cuisine, with a terrace offering views of the Bonany valley. There’s a swimming pool, gardens with palm trees and Mediterranean plants, and a small artificial lake with water feature.
All the works of art decorating this four-star hotel are by the disabled artist Laura Riera, who lives in nearby Vilafranca de Bonany.
