Xisca Lladó has been creating her delicious vegetarian cuisine here since 1998. The restaurant is in a characterful side street off Oms and in August 2013 Xisca transformed the interior with a more elegant and relaxed décor: wooden floors, white painted beamed ceilings, dove-grey walls, mirrors, and attractive lighting.
Spanish, English and German
Cuisine is based on fresh market ingredients (Sa Pastanaga – carrot in Mallorcan – is near Mercat de l’Olivar) and they offer a four-course lunch, including bread, olives and carafe of still water (14,50€).
The day we visited, the first course was salad or freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juice; second course was a choice of two soups or a pasta dish.
Following this, we had a choice of three main course courses, and of the four desserts we enjoyed the stand-out apple tart with mascarpone.
Wine choice is limited, but they do offer by-the-glass (including an ecological Spanish red) or small carafes of house wine.
Open only for weekday lunch, Sa Pastanaga does a brisk trade (efficient service here) and it’s best to arrive early to avoid waiting for a table. The warm feminine ambience makes this a popular place for ladies-who-lunch.
