This elegant seasonal hotel resulted from the superb restoration of a stately 19th-century mansion in the heart of Sóller. Full of restored original architectural features – such as tiled floors, beams, and grand arches – it also provides the comforts and conveniences of 21st-century life. Patrick Kearney and his partner Sasha offer a warm welcome. Repeat business is high, with 60 per cent of guests returning.
The seven generously proportioned and individually named suites each have period features and views of mountains or the pretty well-tended garden. Guests have the benefit of WiFi, satellite TV, air conditioning/heating – and, unusually, on Mallorca – tea and coffee-making facilities, among other amenities. There are four junior and two superior suites (the grandest is The Salvia), and the top-floor superior twin, The Orange Suite – named for the views and not the décor!
You can relax in the sun or one of several shaded areas in the fragrant landscaped garden, where there’s an inviting swimming pool. Other facilities include a lounge and cosy bar, and the Salvia Restaurant, where you can enjoy the superb cuisine of German chef Martin Winkler, in the dining room or on the cobbled garden terrace. Lunch is served daily except Monday and dinner daily except Monday and Thursday, with separate à la carte menus. The restaurant has only 30 covers (including hotel guests), and table reservations are by email only for people not staying in the hotel.
