Schwaiger Xino’s Restaurant is located just outside Palma’s motorway ring-road, not necessarily where you’d expect to find one of the city’s finest restaurants. However, upon arrival there is an immediate sensation that you are in good hands, surrounded by a team who make it their priority to serve exceptional food. Chef Gerhand Schwaiger – with years of top-level experience under his belt – offers a Mediterranean menu that plays on traditional flavours. Gerhard Schwaiger was born was born in the German town of Memmingen, where it was clear from the start that he was an inquisitive and restless cook. He worked his way through different haute-cuisine restaurants in Germany before deciding to move to Mallorca in 1986, where he became head chef at the restaurant Tristán in Puerto Portals.
Gerhard is undeniably a master of creativity. With food as his medium, he takes the traditional Mediterranean cuisine and turns it into something truly special. Over the years his cooking has earned him a stellar reputation, recognised by the Michelin red guide who have awarded him two stars for 19 years. This makes him one of the most successful names and sought-after chefs on the international culinary scene.
Nowadays he has his own restaurant – Schwaiger Xino’s – where he offers diners a variety of dishes, seemingly traditional on the surface but once tasted, something quite extraordinary.
