In the young vineyard Son Campaner with its fields between Inca and Sencelles, the dream of a German businessman from Paderborn has come true. Ralf Hämmerling had dreamt of his own vineyard for a long time. When he was offered the five-acre plot, he jumped at the chance. And the oenologist couple Eva Maria Gómez and Stefan Winterling was the perfect winery team for his vision. Stefan, scion of a German family of winemakers and sought-after consultant to numerous wine-growing projects, has given his elegant touch to the wines of Son Campaner since 2011.

“Many island wines contain too much alcohol and thus irritate drinkers during the hot summer months. It’s important that my clients can open a bottle of wine every day without then having a headache,” he says. High-alcohol content is a no-go here. Alcohol never trumps the actual flavour of the wines of Son Campaner. Instead, they score with freshness, balance and, above all, elegance. The new winery on the edge of the vineyards will be completed by the middle of 2015. We are looking forward to savouring an elegant white wine – at sunset and in relaxed holiday mood.
Terra Rossa 2011
Callet, Merlot, Syrah & Cabernet Sauvignon.
This beautiful ruby liquid shines without any imperfections in the glass. The nose is spoiled with ripe fruit aromas, such as raspberry, black cherry, and the sweetness of figs. On entering the mouth, on the way to the palate, this is enriched and completed by a mix of pipe tobacco, roasted flavour, and leather, which seamlessly merges into a long finish.
A wine destined to succeed!
Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah.
Dark cherry-red reflections. The nuanced bouquet has notes of red berries, cherry, thyme, and rosemary. Solid like Athos, this wine of the same name plays on the palate. Powerful and classy. The aftertaste is long and intense.
Blanc de Blancs 2014
Prensal, Macabeo & Chardonnay.
The bright gold of this cuvée shines joyfully. Aromas include ripe pear, sour apples, and citrus fruits, all incredibly fresh. On the palate it emerges crystal clear, mineral, elegant, with a balanced tartaric acid. The finish is surprisingly fresh.
Sparkling summer white with less alcohol.
