Consell’s popular flea market takes place every Sunday from 8.00 to 14.00 at C/ de Antonio Barceló García de Paredes, in the town of Consell. The industrial poligono provides ample room for the thousands of visitors which descend each week to hunt for something of interest among the vast array of secondhand-clothing, antiques, bric-a-brac and furniture. The items vary greatly in quality, condition and price which turns it into an entertaining treasure hunt.
While some products are genuinely antique, others are simply secondhand. If you’re looking to decorate a finca with rustic designs, you may find some great pieces here. There are always plenty of traditional Mallorcan furniture, lamps, picture frames, wicker baskets, glassware and ornaments. There are also two furniture shops within the market which specialise in solid wood and antique pieces. A bar serving drinks, a bread and pastry stall and a food stand specialising in grilled sausages provide informal refreshment for visitors.
The market is particularly popular in high season and it’s worth arriving early. There is a field allocated for parking which has a €1.00 charge.
