About Taller de Mar
This is due to its decor, which consists of fresh white walls and ceiling beams, soft accent lighting and a soothing colour scheme of blues, greys and nude tones. The menu presents a fusion of Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine, and great attention is paid to the presentation of each dish. A fine dining experience for either lunch or dinner, or a sophisticated venue to begin the evening with a cocktail. Alongside the classics, there are plenty of original combinations to choose from on their cocktail list.
The restaurant is headed by Chef Riccardo di Loreto and his right-hand man, Francesco Giorgio. Riccardo’s father, Marco di Loreto is the owner of the successful Mar de Nudos restaurant at Palma’s marina as well as of Anima Beach Club. Originally from Ancona, Italy, Riccardo has been living in Mallorca for over twelve years. He has worked as a chef in several countries with notable time spent in Germany, where he trained under top chefs Alfons Schuhbeck and Eckart Witzigmann. Riccardo specialises in Italian, Japanese and Mediterranean fusion cuisine and his dishes demonstrate a talent for molecular gastronomy.
The menu is separated into ‘Smart Food’, Starters, Fish, Meat and Deserts. The Smart Food options are designed for diners seeking a lighter dish to accompany their cocktail. An example would be the ‘Octopus carpaccio with potato aioli, lime meringue and air of paprika de la Vera’.Tartars feature among the starters, while the fish dishes range from sea bass to lobster, and there’s an entrecote among the meat options. Their specials board changes weekly and there is also a set lunch menu available.
