Experienced restaurateurs Luis and Sandra – who own La Taperia in Lübeck, Germany – had a three-year search for the right premises, finally choosing the popular La Lonja area. Open daily, La Taperia offers high-quality tapas in a homely Spanish setting. From the entrance, a few steps lead down into the dining area, with exposed stone walls and a large window onto the street.
Choosing your tapas could take some time: the menu offers an impressive selection – including a great choice for vegetarians, as well as soups, a mixed tapas platter (for the indecisive), and four ‘gourmet’ main courses for those who want something larger.
Look out for the specials: we tried medallions of hake served with potato mash. From the tapas we enjoyed the healthy and delicious beetroot carpaccio with caramelized goat’s cheese with nuts (7,80€ and enough to share), and excellent grilled fresh calamari with rosemary and potatoes (8,80€). Dessert choice is small; we had a ‘wow’ apple strudel from the specials. Spanish and a few Mallorcan wines.
Sandra’s watchful eye front of house ensures friendly and attentive service. Highly recommended.
We love…the good value for above-average quality food and professional management.
