Teatre Principal is Palma‘s main theatre and was once referred to as the House of Comedies. It is located beside Plaza Weyler and Plaza Mayor. In 1858 the newly built theatre burnt down in a fire after a performance of Macbeth. The current 19th century building exudes a sense of grandeur and history, but is equipped with all the technology required of a contemporary stage.
