In July the Spanish General Directorate for Traffic (DGT) presented its “protected cycling routes” across Spain, with the island of Mallorca hosting three of them on its territory.
The protected sections will feature more signage and patrols (up to three thousand in the period spanning from July to August), lower speed limits, more alcohol-and-drug checks and the addition of the routes to DGT helicopter-patrol patterns.
