‘The Swallows‘ is justly named for its uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean and regal perch above the beautiful city of Palma. White-washed and light-filled this jewel box estate is just a stone’s throw from Palma Old Town and some of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca.
While all the amenities of the house are modern and state of the art, the traditional tiles, crystal chandeliers and airy decor give the house a distinct sense of Iberian authenticity. The spectacular sunset over Palma Bay is legendary and the view from the patio of ‘The Swallows’ is one of the best vantages in the city. The estate has 5 well-appointed bedrooms offering ample sleeping rooms for 10 guests.
Rental villa location
The villa is located in the most exclusive residential neighbourhood in Palma with a birds-eye view of the city of Palma and the silver sea beyond. Get lost wandering the narrow pre-Roman streets where you will find tiny wine bars offering delicious tapas and artisanal shops in Palma Old Town. La Seu, the famous Gothic cathedral with artwork and sculpture by Antonio Gaudí and Miguel Barceló is not to be missed.
Overview of the villa
‘The Swallows’ is situated in a verdant Mediterranean garden with a gorgeous pool facing the sea, a state of the art kitchen and dining terraces with a BBQ. Refurbished with modern stone floors and elegant decor, the villa’s large windows look out on the Mediterranean gardens, pool and sea vistas. The villa is fully air-conditioned for the heat of summer, and has underfloor heating for the cooler months. Wifi is available throughout the house.
‘The Swallows’ is a two storey villa that sleeps 10 comfortably with 4 beautiful bedrooms on the upper floor in the main house and a 25m2 private pool house with it’s own bedroom and bath. All the bedrooms have 160-180 cm mattresses. The master bedroom looks out to the sea and has a private ensuite bathroom, while another bedroom has a private terrace. Three bedrooms look out over the garden and each have a private modern bathroom. The property is perfect for a large family looking for a vacation rental with all the conveniences of home and amenities close by.
The ground floor of the property has a foyer and a glamorous living room equipped with a working fireplace ideal for the winter months, and cozy sofas for reading. To the right of the foyer is the fully equipped eat-in kitchen. The dining terrace and pool are just off the living room. There is a guest bathroom conveniently located on this floor. A wonderful shady courtyard off the kitchen offers a respite from the afternoon sun.
Just up the stairs in the foyer, are four well-appointed bedrooms with beds 160-180 cm (Queen or King) and of the bedrooms have private bathrooms all with shower, wash basin and wc. Another bedroom has a private terrace. The master bedroom bathroom is en suite and has sea view. There is a cozy lounge with a tv looking out to the sea. The upper level can be accessed by an open staircase at the rear of the garden.
The large freeform pool with sea views has exquisite traditional tiles and chaise for sunbathing. A verdant arbor offers an escape in the leafy shade poolside. The patio extends off the living room to the pool and can accommodate a large party for dining al fresco. In the shaded courtyard off the kitchen is a pergola with wrought iron garden furniture for escaping the sun and beautiful original fountain.
The laundry room has a washing machine and dryer for guest use at the rear of the property.
Outside living areas
To the front of the property facing the sea the patio is surrounded by formal landscaped gardens with succulents and other Mediterranean plants and offers various options for repose. Relax in the sun by the glittering pool, or in the shade in the rear courtyard.
The 25m2 lovely pool house offers a private sleeping option with a 160cm double bed, dressing area, bathroom with shower and an additional bed if required.
Good to know….
The dining table can accommodate 10 people comfortably on the patio with a smaller table seating 5. The airport is 15km away, and the closest beaches are 400m away. There is maid service included, and a private chef and spa services available on request.
