This is an historic edition of abcMallorca: after much consideration we have decided to publish the magazine in three languages. We would like to welcome Spanish readers and hope to fulfil your expectations. Although I have been living on the island for many years and consider Mallorca my home, the magazine is my vision of Mallorca – a foreigner’s view – and this was perhaps my reason for hesitating over entering the local market. What we hope to offer you is a reflection of what I believe is one of the most important and endearing characteristics of the island – the cosmopolitan lifestyle available here.
We will do our best to be the bridge between the three different cultures and to make abcMallorca an entertaining, informative, positive and refreshing perspective of the wonderful place we call home.
This issue is full of great ideas to get you through the winter season. One of the island’s top chefs prepares a gourmet feast for Christmas on page xx; more recipes can be found on abc-mallorca.com. We visit Palma Aquarium to meet the new man at the helm, Antonio González, and get an update on the Save the Tuna campaign, which we fully support. We feature some ideas for gifts, home decoration, and winter flower arrangements on page xxx.
There is plenty of style on offer in our fashion feature on page xx, shot on location in La Reserva with locally manufactured leathers and furs that are right on-trend this season, and we find a major fashion business success story – Abaccino Bags – in Petra.
In our regular features, the Property Report reviews the 2010 market, and our lifestyle guru Adrienne Cullen, in her tongue-in-cheek Opinion piece, reveals why Winter is the New Summer!
We wish all our readers and clients the very best for Christmas and the New Year.
