The goal of this event is to raise awareness of plastic pollution and involve the community in doing something practical about it. It’s a great way to meet like-minded people who care about the environment.
What to expect
This year, the main event will take place on Saturday 19th September. Environmental organisations will join forces to organise beach clean ups in which rubbish will be sorted and categorised. Last year over 190 kg of rubbish was removed and over 3,000 plastic items categorised. There will also be workshops and information on what to do reduce waste. The location of the beach cleanups is yet to be confirmed but wherever you, you can do your bit on World Clean Up Day, by picking up some litter near you!
